What does the ChatGPT watermark remover actually remove?+
Invisible characters (zero-width spaces, word joiners, soft hyphens, bidirectional marks, tag characters), unusual spaces, control characters, em and en dashes, curly quotes and ellipsis characters. The report shows the exact count of each. It never changes your words.
Can it remove a statistical watermark?+
No tool can honestly promise that. A statistical mark lives in which words were chosen, not in any character, so deleting characters does not touch it. Rewriting the wording reduces it, and heavy rewriting is the only thing providers say defeats it. Anyone quoting a removal score is inventing the number.
Is my text sent anywhere?+
No. The cleaner runs entirely in your browser. There is no limit and nothing is stored.
Why do my curly quotes and dashes change?+
They are punctuation habits common in AI text, and sometimes just a word processor's smart punctuation. Number ranges keep a plain hyphen. If you prefer to keep them, use the Fix List, which lets you accept changes one at a time.
